Again with the altar girls.

Yes, they are approved.

So are Communion in the hand and while standing. Altar girls are approved but are not mandated; nor are they a good idea. One of the major errors of the modern age is the denial of any real distinction between men and women. This is contrary to the reality of nature and a revolt against God's order of creation. How many other errors flow from the attempt to recreate God's creation as unisexual, that our sexual differences have no purpose? Divorce, contraception, fatherless families, abortion, homosexuality, and finally the madness of "transgenderism." The use of altar girls only reinforces this error. With respect, Father, I would ask you to reconsider your support for them.

Men and Women are not the same and there is no "modern age" attempt to say there are no differences, to deny God's order of creation. What the Modern Age has said, and rightly so, is that the "traditional" roles for women, as determined by men, were nothing more than fear-based patriarchy masquerading as caring for the "weaker" sex.

The equalizer between men and women when it comes to serving on the altar is the dignity bestowed by Baptism. That dignity is not diminished or superceded by "immemorial" tradition, the absence of testicles, or the pastor's personal prejudices or preferences.

Anthony, I second your motion.

L. C,

You obviously are not following the nonstop preaching by the Left about multiple genders and the ability to self identify with another gender, supported by our political masters in DC

"Your" political masters, not mine.

L.C.,

I would say your statement "traditional" roles for women, as determined by men, were nothing more than fear-based patriarchy masquerading as caring for the "weaker" sex" betrays that you are a homo sapiens member of the Left

You are hysterical. "It's a word with a very female-baiting history, coming from the Latin hystericus ("of the womb"). This was a condition thought to be exclusive to women – sending them uncontrollably and neurotically insane owing to a dysfunction of the uterus (the removal of which is still called a hysterectomy)."

But, of course, there is not patriarchal element in your attitude, and that of men before you, toward women.

Anthony I too agree with you, the whole point of altar "boys" is to foster priestly vocations, girls do not belong as altar servers period and a waste of their time, boy's bond with each and giggling girls are an utter distraction.

What studies have you done on how altar girls keep altar boys from wanting to be priests? My former parish in Augusta and Augusta in general have provided more vocations to the priesthood and religious life than any other city in our diocese to include the see city of Savannah which has the most Catholics (although Augusta does when one looks at the metro area which incorporates parishes adjacent to Augusta in the Diocese of Charleston.

Much of this is due to the charismatic Alleluia Covenant Community. My former parish, the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, since 1983 has produced the most vocations of any other parish in the diocese. Many of the vocations are from the Alleluia community, but not all of the vocations are.

And yes, there are altar girls galore in all the parishes in Augusta.

Think before you write falsehoods.

L. C,

I know, you are a lefty and cannot conceive that not all men harbor the leftwing sins you keep talking about. I have two daughters, wildly successful in the business world, raised by a conservative father. You lefties always paint with a broad brush because you cannot see the world behind what the New York Times tells you to think.

…so states Pierre painting a broad brush and applying stereotypes of anyone who disagrees with him - hypocrisy!!!
