The ”Gospel this week was the parable of the Good Samaritan, which is one of the best, and I thought it to be exceptionally timely. Kids being held in cages without water, federal agents raiding peaceful homes today & the president telling people of color to go back where they came from. Who is this man’s neighbor? The one who shows mercy. For the sermon, I heard a bishop lecture us about .... money. How cowardly. How weak. Our American bishops are shamefully MIA on one of the moral issues of our time. For more than a century, the Catholic Church has stood up for the rights of immigrants, our brothers & sisters in God’s family. Now our bishops & priests are too afraid of offending Trump & his blind followers. This is another way that the Church loses respect & trust in the real world. “And the priest passed by.”
Thank you for sharing this, Father! I know that there are others who are alive today for the same reason. We need them to speak out. Every life saved is a victory.
Why are you so harsh in your judgment toward a predominately Protestant and increasingly secular country( the U.S.)? And the bishop? Does it bother you that most of these people crossing the Rio Grande are leaving overwhelming Catholic countries to come here? They are coming here in such numbers that we are having problems taking care of them and putting them up in a decent shelter. And where were you when Pres Obama was deporting 3 million of them?
Since most of the illegals/undocumented residing here have come from Mexico here are some facts about that country

As for the stats in my comment above, I will say that they are not current as of say last year but nonetheless paint a pretty accurate picture, allowing for the ups and downs which affect any economy.
Thanks for sharing the ravings of AOC which are documented lies. Obama's former ICE director called them lies and said it was Obama who came up with the cages. When you take the illegal aliens into your rectory, such that you have to sleep on the floor, give us an update.
