PRAYTELL HAS AN EXCELLENT COMMENTARY ON YESTERDAY'S 20TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME GOSPEL: THIS EXPLAINS THE TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN TODAY!

Joseph Johnson tells this about a homily heard on Sunday's Gospel:

(The) pastor preached on racism and...suggested that, in Sunday's Ordinary Form Gospel, Our Lord made a racist statement..

Contrast that heresy with the excellent commentary on that Gospel shared  by the Praytell blog.

Press the title for the excellent commentary:

There is a much better commentary on yesterday's EF prayers at the excellent Vultus Christi site, and it is not an ivory tower talk about dogs or social issues which people forget by the time they leave the church door, but about why we need the liturgy, as derived from the Introit:

http://vultuschristi.org/index.php/2017/08/a-short-bi-lingual-homily-for-the-11th-sunday-after-pentecost/

How relevant indeed are the EF prayers for today, not mainly focused on the "community" and its social problems, but on each individual soul who will one day face God's judgement! Where can the God of Silence be found in the Novus Ordo liturgy who's foundation is noise, chatter, and a fear of silence? Was the Introit at least sung at your Mass yesterday?

I'll have to show this post to my 19 year old daughter (one of the witnesses to the homily in question who relayed to me what she said she heard from our pastor). She is a dog lover and has worked as an assistant in a local veterinary office since she was 15. Though she is generally on the same side of the political spectrum as myself (right), she can be very outspoken in her condemnations on the subject of racism.

Queenship of Mary August 22nd

Just as the moon sends down to us light which is not of it's own generation, but comes from the sun, so does the Mother of God reflect down to us the Light of her Divine Son, by whose Light we are spiritually re-generated. As Queen over the earthly as well as Heavenly realm, she sends down to us the light and grace which originate from, and are given to her, through the beneficence of the Divine Trinity, the Source of all Holiness. Our Holy Mother and Queen, who rightly is the greatest beneficiary of the New Covenant, is an overflowing fountain of grace, and this grace is distributed through her to us according to the how God desires it. She is our Mother whose concern and solicitude is for our spiritual welfare.
This is why we honor The Blessed Virgin as Queen of Heaven and Earth. It is right that we venerate her because in doing so, we give honor and glory to God and in this way we please Him by doing what He desires of us.
