FOR THE LOVE OF MIKE, OF ALL THE THINGS WE PASTORS NEED TO WORRY ABOUT, DO I HAVE TO ALSO WORRY ABOUT DAM BEAVERS, I MEAN, BEAVERS AND DAMS?

St. Anne in Richmond Hill now has to contend with beavers chopping down our year old planted trees on our landscape in order to make a dam somewhere or just sharpen their teeth.

I was not taught in the seminary how to deter sinful beavers from their natural behaviors. What's a pastor to do??????

Not to mention more dangerous critters in your area---diamondback rattlesnakes, water moccasins and alligators!

The best quality felt dress hats are made of the fibres from beaver pelts . . .

Yes, alligators galore, water moccasins which are aggressive as well as cotton mouth snakes which are equally aggressive, buzzards galore, great white sharks off the coast and documented to be there as well as tagged, but no bears, I don't think, as we had in Macon, even one marauding downtown!

We had bears in the town when I was a kid. One broke into a bank and caused excitement with the police. Last winter a deer broke into a woman's house and when she surprised it the deer went nuts and nearly destroyed her home before they could get it back out the door. I used to catch and remove snakes that would come in our house during the summer months for the shade. When my father-in-law was a baby his mother had left him eating in his high chair to go to the next room. He started crying and she returned to find him battleing a racoon for his breakfast.

Animals make life more interesting.

Contact your local ranger from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources division: http://www.georgiawildlife.com/
Like all rodents, a beavers teeth are continually growing. The constant chewing is a necessity. The outer layer of the tree is also a food source, and the logs creates a suitable habitat for them. You are not going to win without professional help.
