No wonder Ty Cobb went to Detroit!

Seriously, couldn't baseball be classified as recreation? Does the commandment forbid recreation on Sundays?

While I do agree Sunday football in the NFL has usurped Christianity as the national religion--how sinful IS enjoying sports on Sunday? Or is it?

The guides to confession usually talk about excessive or inappropriate singing, dancing, and recreation. I suppose that would be a double header.

I think we were better off when all the stores were closed on Sunday and you could not hunt on Sunday, and the only things open were the police and fire departments, the hospitals, and an occasional filling station. People went to church, then stayed home with their families and it slowed the pace of life a bit.

Professional athletes get paid for playing games. They're "working" on the Lord's day, right?

I bet that teen-age Jesus played soccer on "the weekend".

But he...He...probably didn't get paid. (But what if Joseph took them for pizza after the game?)
