One of the more wonderful recoveries of the early Church that Vatican II sought is the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults or the Ancient Catechumenate. Today's Memorial of Saint Ambrose shows us how even a catechumen can be known for holiness of faith and plucked from the catechumens to be the Bishop of Milan. He was baptized, confirmed, made his First Communion, was ordained a deacon, priest and bishop all at the same celebration presumably.
We had about 20 baptized candidates welcomed and about 10 unbaptized who became catechumens.

is that three different sets of vestments, and ughhhh, layman carrying Book of Gospels, ew....
