While on vacation I attended a "Catholic Community" that hit on most of the fourteen items and some more besides, including a 'gathering hymn' and a brief opening monologue by the priest, introducing certain members of the congregation and making a few witty remarks (apparently to engage our attention; I guess people were already looking bored). Instead of the usual joy of the Eucharist, I left feeling depressed and a little angry. I am so grateful for my traditional-minded home parish!!
