When I read his writings, and more important, hear him speak I am struck by the genuine nature of his words. He doesn't filter things, he speaks from the heart, and you can only do that when you really mean what you say. Today's sound bite driven media will pounce n every mistake when you conduct yourself that way, which means it's bad for public relations, but I'd rather have our Pope honest, sincere, and unfiltered.Templarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18204866760862707908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-42793491414918367782010-03-23T23:05:08.127-04:002010-03-23T23:05:08.127-04:00Keep an eye out for how many in the episcopate go ...Keep an eye out for how many in the episcopate go in to bat for Pope Benedict at this hour of need. It should be quite telling. Cardinal Pell has an article in today's Australian in which he has the Pope's back. It is mostly people outside the Catholic Faith that are against this Holy Father. The Holy Father has re-awakened a Catholic Spirit that has been dormant for far too long. This scares people. He embodies exactly what a Pope should be. It is lack of respect and disobedience on the part of society that racks his Papacy, not his role or decisions as Peter, Head of the Catholic Church. God Bless him and His Pontificate. Roman Catholics who scorn him should themselves be ashamed and look a little deeper into what he says and does. Any Pope who was to follow Pope John Paul II and his "Hollywood" style would have been a problem. This is the crux of the issue. Too little, and too late has defined the Papacy for decades, the faithful leading themselves and deciding things for themselves. The more this Holy Father is crucified in the press and public, the more I am convinced he is doing exactly what he should.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
