Not like you ever see a blimp overhead, "there is downtown Augusta and the Savannah River in the distance..." I do like the improvements they have made over the year, like relocating Berckmans Road and the general landscaping---a lot of things they do for something that lasts only a week each year (when the practice rounds are added to the regular 4 days of play in April).<br /><br />Father M. I don't suppose the National would ever buy Westover (the cemetery to which you must be referring? I suppose the "residents" might object to "moving!"<br /><br />There is a legend that in the old, old days of the Masters (maybe back in the 1930s or 1940s), many clergy in the area objected to playing of the Masters when it (as it still does occasionally) fell on Easter Sunday. Clifford Roberts, the long time chairman of the club (and reportedly an atheist), supposedly suggested a solution: "Well, why don't they change the date of Easter?"!!!<br />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
