Go figure!"

Yes indeed, that has been my experience starting from the earliest days of the revelations of 2002. The statistics of the John Jay comprehensive study are very revealing. And studies done since then have confirmed and indeed enlarged the extent of the "problem". Thanks be to God, the Holy Father, Pope Benedict, dealt with the whole issue very firmly in November of 2005:

* Homosexual orientation is "objectively disordered and often constitute a trial" for the person.
* It is rarely, if ever, changeable.
* Persons with a homosexual orientation should not be unjustly discriminated against. However, some forms of discrimination are justified.
* A person with a homosexual orientation who engages in a same-sex act is committing a grave sin -- one that is intrinsically immoral and contrary to natural law. It does not matter whether the act is a "one night stand" or is activity within a loving, committed relationship.

The 2005 Instruction indicated the Congregation for Catholic Education, “in accord with the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, believes it necessary to state clearly that the Church, while profoundly respecting the persons in question, cannot admit to the seminary or to holy orders those who practise homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies or support the so-called 'gay culture'."

"Such persons, in fact, find themselves in a situation that gravely hinders them from relating correctly to men and women. One must in no way overlook the negative consequences that can derive from the ordination of persons with deep-seated homosexual tendencies...".

Cardinal Bertone has for several years been at the helm in seeing that the Bishops clearly understand and obey the Holy Father's instruction. He is therefore a target. He understands this and does not back down under fire. God bless him.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06400691261382506978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-7185637363004058402010-04-16T07:31:44.069-04:002010-04-16T07:31:44.069-04:00You should resubmit this for your local paper in M...You should resubmit this for your local paper in Macon.
