So, everytime Francis prays, "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us", he's essentially asking God to hold a grudge and seek revenge on him, since that is what Francis is doing to Burke.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-82034419174384883392014-11-16T16:30:54.234-05:002014-11-16T16:30:54.234-05:00Henry,

St Patrick’s Seminary in May...The Church in Ireland
St Patrick’s Seminary in Maynooth welcomed 14 new seminarians in 2014. This represents a decline from 2013 when 20 new seminarians joined Maynooth. In 2011, there were 12 new seminarians and 13 in 2012.
To put this into perspective, ordinations at Maynooth at the peak year of 1963 were 558. And this was when Ireland had 9 other seminaries!Georgenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-42457533263382344402014-11-16T09:16:50.113-05:002014-11-16T09:16:50.113-05:00Cardinal Burke is 100% correct in saying the pope ...Cardinal Burke is 100% correct in saying the pope needs to uphold Catholic teaching.

The pope's refusal to publicly uphold Church teaching without compromise is a scandal. He knows his silence encourages people to think he doesn't really believe what the Church teaches. The time for rationalizing Francis' behavior is longggggggggg gone.

It is not enough to say "I am a loyal son of the Church" and then turn around and try to legitimize sacraligeous behavior. The pope is the servant of the law not it's master. He has no authority to say that we can't use the term adultery when referring to Catholics who divorce and are "remarried" when Christ Himself said that they are in adultery? And his refusal to publicly correct Cardinal Kasper (who he sent around the world preparing the way) who publicly has been stating heresy is a scandal.

What has been the result of Francis' actions from the moment he stepped onto that balcony........confusion. His behavior is unjust to those Catholics who heroically
live the faith in the face of opposition from the world on every side. Curiously Francis never shows any kind of concern for Catholics who actually believe what the Church teaches.

And mercy in the Church did not begin with Francis. Like the Father in the story of the prodigal son all popes have welcomed back sinners. But like the prodigal son, they demanded that they leave their sins behind and repent, like the prodigal son did. Everyone forgets to mention that the sinful son was welcomed back, but they don't mention that he repented of his sin and changed and asked forgiveness. The pro sodomy crowd doesn't want forgiveness because they don't think they are wrong.

The world is in chaos, marriage is attacked all the time and what does Francis do. Nothing. He, and it was him, introduces some god awful paper at the synod praising homosexuals precisely because they are homosexuals. The time has arrived when Francis needs to make a decision, either uphold Church teaching or resign. I don't care that millions cheer him in the street. The people that cheer him don't believe in the Faith and want it changed beyond recognition

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
