And I saw some apostolates returned to the unadulterated Pentecost vigil. Very promising.

The ore-1955 Good Friday we went to this year was a revelation to me. Praise the Lord for Catholic green unity!"

Well, I thought so too, but not at the EF Mass I attended this morning. My parish decided to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart at the EF Low Mass this morning, which I was grateful for, since I was not able to attend Mass last Friday on the Feast of the Sacred Heart, but confused by too, because it was published in the bulletin this would be the Third Sunday after Pentecost, and that's what I was reading in the missal for the first part of the Mass.

I just try to go with the flow... :-)

God bless.
Bee
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-23449256367378232202018-06-10T11:15:30.363-04:002018-06-10T11:15:30.363-04:00Before 1960 it was the Sunday within the Octave of...Before 1960 it was the Sunday within the Octave of the Sacred Heart. The Propers don't change, but the vestment colour in the EF (1962) is now green.

The Propers for the 10th Sunday in Ordinary time are completely different, a clear indication of how the Novus Ordo represents a deliberate rupture with the past. Vestment colour hardly implies unity.

Last Sunday was in the Octave of Corpus Christi, and until 1960 would have had white vestments.

Already, priestly societies of Pontifical Right are using the pre-1955 Ordo for Holy Week. One can expect the restoration of the pre-1960 Octaves in due course. Not before time. John Nolanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09027156691859606002noreply@blogger.com
