Their critics are more eminent in every respect.

I daresay that Grillo's latest effusions will have Rita Ferrone wetting her knickers with excitement. I particularly like the part about the EF presenting a way to connect with Christ in a way that better corresponds with our differing temperaments and psyches.

In the OF, depending on the personality of the priest and the style of music, there have been many times that I have felt very unconfortable and out-of-place because the way I was formed to show quiet reverence in Church because of the Presence of the Blessed Sacrament and because I am a, generally, conservative white guy with a love of history and tradition. The EF (or an EF-like OF celebrated in the Roman tradition) allows me to participate in a non-contoversial liturgy, appreciating the beauty and profundity of what has been given, so that I can better focus on the Saving Mystery of Christ's Sacrifice.

The Roman Rite (where the Eucharist is treated, or handled, the same in either the EF or OF forms, and celebrated in the Roman tradition) IS the Catholic Rite for most Catholics. A Catholic liturgy is a non-controversial style of liturgy. Christ and his Sacrifice should be our focus--not the distractions of new theologies and trendy (and often disruptive and irreverent) music.Joseph Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00036852763902493131noreply@blogger.com
