Sure, this glory may unfold in the future and if that's the sense this is made, then it's OK. But if in the Omega point sense of some impersonal, implacable, mechanistic evolution based on certain laws known to a Gnostic elite, then no.

So the problem IMHO is not the prayer itself but its vagueness. One can spin it either way.Jusadbellumnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-26847460406930006742015-12-22T06:00:49.470-05:002015-12-22T06:00:49.470-05:00I seem to remember the Protestant maxim of 'ec...I seem to remember the Protestant maxim of 'ecclesia semper reformanda' was taken up by that pillar of orthodoxy, Professor Hans Küng. Reading Francis through the Latin Mass and going to Eucharistic Adoration every week has likewise helped me to love Francis, and to see that what he's communicated above is nothing more or less than "going back to basics" in the Christian life. It's a pretty good basis for what to aim for, and also for an examination of conscience.

I've hardly felt less Roman Catholic since Benedict's departure, and I don't feel less Roman Catholic with Francis as Pope. He may be a bit hard to read at times, but a lot of the time, the failing is mine.

I also don't trouble myself unnecessarily by giving a rat's behind about what the mainstream media has to say: the last time I took seriously anything they have to say and anything way too many Americans will fixate on in a manner comparable to OCD, the media was trying to convince me that Benedict had finally "okayed" condom use. Given that God used my anger at the unbelievable stupidity to get me to discover Benedict, who thenceforth made a difference in my hitherto lukewarm life, I don't doubt His ability to bring good out of way too much stupid in the room.WSquarednoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-72933179971401122622015-12-21T18:46:50.407-05:002015-12-21T18:46:50.407-05:00This doesn't seem like much of a rebuke. I have no feeling of anything with this man, on the other hand when Benedict the XVI was sitting on the chair and watched his Masses and his teachings I felt very Roman Catholic, I miss him so. He carried himself as a Pope of the Holy Roman Catholic Church should and with the help of Mon. Guido Marini dressed the part with stunning Roman vestments from the Vatican closets. Some Protestants rejected this on the grounds that the Reformation had restored the 'pure' Church and further reform was unnecessary. Perhaps Gene can enlighten us further.

This Pope in his pronouncements is becoming more worrying as time goes on. One could also argue theologically if this so-called "spirituality" is an "innate quality," as Francis says, or a gift from God as in Augustine, etc. He says that this "spirituality" is the backbone of the Church...I thought it was belief and faith. You have to read between Francis' lines, but it is pretty clear where he is coming from.Genehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06672484450736725268noreply@blogger.com
