The Feast of Corpus Christi is relatively new (13th century) and we have a magnificent poem by St Thomas Aquinas set to 13th century chant which is very modern since the corpus of Gregorian chant had been written by the end of the 8th century.<br /><br />I know of no chant which spans an octave and a half like this.
