He/She was in church for 12 minutes, dropped a rolled up dollar in the collection basket, and dashed out before the Mass ended, like Judas.

Do I "like" that? No. And you don't either.

Again, is that an inflatable "riff-raft?"

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-23457046522099239062018-06-24T09:47:32.883-04:002018-06-24T09:47:32.883-04:00A great Catholic??????????????????????????????????...A great Catholic????????????????????????????????????????
Okay you must think that riff-raft are great Catholics. Interesting! But the genius of the pre-Vatican II Church is that it allowed the "riff-raft" to come before the chalice was unveiled and leave at Communion and still fulfill their oblgiation. I like that I hope you do too. Otherwise you are into the Protestant solution, just don't come and they don't. Thank you Vatican II.Fr. Allan J. Is that an in...…"...the riff-raft..."

Is that an inflatable raft?

"...but they were there and that was great!"

Was it "great? Luke 17:10 "So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.'"

"However, since Vatican II, Catholicism has had Protestant envy in terms of fellowship and the country club approach to be a horizontal Church which focuses more on doing than being."

It seems that the very thing you say was "great" is an example of the reality that it was the pre-Vatican Two church that focused on "doing" rather than "being." If one DID one's duty - was at Church before the chalice was uncovered and left after receiving communion - he/she was, in your pre-Vatican Two view, a "great Catholic.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
