However, there were results for ABC. This is an extract from the ABC news article on the movie:

“‘I’m being honest because if we aren’t honest about who we are and the flaws that we have, then there is really no credibility to the story that we are sharing,’ Johnson told ABC News in an interview about the new film, which premieres in theaters nationwide on Friday.

‘It was important that we also extend that in to the film, showing that there is right and wrong, good and bad on both sides of this fence - on both sides of the debate. In the end, dialogue, conversation, compassion – that’s truly what wins people over.” . . .

“Johnson said that she believes that one day we will see abortion become unthinkable in society. ‘I don’t think it’s going to be this big legislative victory that comes necessarily. I think it’s going to be through storytelling – through testimonies. It’s going to be from women and men who have suffered after abortions, it’s going to be from those of us who have worked in clinics, who have a story to tell.’ Johnson said.

Johnson shares in what she believes changes hearts and minds on this issue.

‘As a person of faith, we are given an opportunity every single day to wake up with the gift of redemption and to me, redemption means newness. You have an opportunity to live in a new relationship with Christ, to live with a new mended heart in Christ. That’s what he wants out of us. Not to live in our past, in a place where we can’t change. But to live right here, in the NOW, in the present with him and to see the present as the gift that it truly is. We all got stuff.’

The new movie is based on Johnson’s 2011 book of the same name."

See https://abcnews.go.com/US/unplanned-tells-story-youngest-planned-parenthood-employees-clinic/story?id=62008079 [news article]

See also: https://abc7news.com/5227125/ [TV coverage]
Anonymous 2noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-72257664978450223462019-03-31T08:59:32.874-04:002019-03-31T08:59:32.874-04:00Anonymous,

I note that all of the fake news cites: cBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, refuse to acknowledge the existence of this movie. I bet they would promote a movie entitled "Abortions are Fun!, Everyone Should Have One." This action just confirms they are evil. I never watch them any more and I have unplugged myself from the tv package and just stream what I want to see. And I’m very glad you had an extra-ordinary liturgical experience today...I’m envious. We have very little here locally.
I certainly do share your negative feelings about the course our Church and the current papacy have taken. And don’t get me started on the “The present crisis” (as Fr. Z calls it); or, worse, the present day socializing of government, medicine, politics and our country. But I do try to keep in mind that how I chose to express my anger and disgust can leave me jaded and hopeless, which is exactly where the evil one wants us. Instead I do try to pray more, but fail miserably at times.

BTW, off topic I know, but a plug nonetheless: I urge everyone here to see “Unplanned”, released yesterday. It didn’t deserve the R rating—that was a classic liberal agenda move, driven by the liberal media and Hollywood. Very important movie and well-done. “Gosnell” was good, “Unplanned” is great.
I hope my daughter will allow me to take my 14 and 15 y.o. Lay people, priests, cardinals, we must all return to God…”

In a general way I of course agree with Cardinal Sarah; we all need repentance and conversion. However, it gets a little tiresome as laity lumped in with the atrocities committed by certain clerics, and to be implicated as part of the problem. Yes, we are guilty in a general sense, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But please, let's be truthful about why our Church is in such a tailspin.

And as a further insult and heartbreak, I just heard on the news today that the Archdiocese of Chicago is using Catholic cemetery funds (profits from investments, it seems) to pay off sex abuse claims.

You know, all of my immediate family, and many members of my extended family, and many, many lifelong family friends are buried in one or another of the Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese. The cemetery where my parents, brother, and both sets of grandparents are, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins ,is almost full. Knowing that, I purchased a plot for myself a few years back to make sure I would be buried near them when I died.

So given some cemeteries are almost full, and no new sales will offset costs, and given that many people are being cremated these days, and many baptized are fallen away and do not care anymore where they are buried, and many young people will never even want to be buried in a Catholic cemetery, where will the money come from to maintain these cemeteries in perpetuity as promised?

I braced myself for the closing of much loved churches and the sale of the land. But I never expected these....these...these...people... would pillage the funds set aside to take care of the final resting place of the dearly departed to cover the costs of their perverse practices, no less; to pay for their own grave and mortal sins.

Here's the link to the news story: https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/chicago-archdiocese-using-cemetery-funds-pay-priest-sex-abuse-costs/

God bless.
Bee

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-60908840961505102642019-03-29T21:35:37.793-04:002019-03-29T21:35:37.793-04:00Anonymous 2,
