After the Mass was a procession and Benediction. I sat watching and feeling so sorry for the millions of Catholics who have never had a chance to experience the EF, especially those who are misinformed about it and look upon it as a caricature of its actual reality. It would be wonderful if more of us could avail ourselves of this Mass without making an 80 mile drive. But for now, we pray and wait.Robert Kumpelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10567786012498143419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7846189835239594160.post-29722822047015748692016-05-29T16:41:14.590-04:002016-05-29T16:41:14.590-04:00I just attended the most beautiful Corpus Christie...I just attended the most beautiful Corpus Christie Mass at Most Holy Trinity in Augusta.
The choir, though small, was magnificent. There was Latin chant throughout the Mass starting with the processional, the Sequence, the offertory, the Salve Regina (which has become customary after communion!) all the way to the Tantum Ergo for the indoor Eucharistic procession which was done so reverently with incense and bells. The only improvement would be if it were celebrated ad orientem. I do wish that the Ef mass could be celebrated here also, but at least we have an opportunity to attend the EF locally at St. Mary's on the Hill (next one July 17). Whereas in other sermons it has been said there was no miracle, merely that some felt guilty and dished out the food they had hidden on their persons(!). In front of the altar the priest (who always wears flip flops and shorts) has a military display in front of the altar. There are various military hats on stands and military jackets on hangers on stands. Corpus Christi won't be mentioned but Memorial Day will. The hymns will be, if previous years are any indication, Battle Hymn of the Republic and God Bless America.

And I would bet that the majority of Catholic parishes around the country will resemble what I happening in my parish as opposed to what is happening in yours. And the self destruction continues. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
