The first time I heard a Catholic explain that "standing is the resurrection posture," I thought...whut!??! I mean, really, what a stretch to justify something questionable. <br />One of the churches I pastored was a wonderful pre-Civil War church with an old wooden altar rail. It had not been used by any of several former pastors, but I decided to use it for what it was intended. After a couple of Sundays of people coming down to kneel for Communion, I was swamped with statements like, "Wow, it feels so much more reverent," "I feel so humble coming down to receive," "this makes Communion so much more meaningful."
